School transitions for international families

If any of these keeps you up at night, you are who we help

Moving is hard enough. The Belgian school system, from maternelle to secondary, runs on deadlines and rules not written for newcomers, and a child arriving from abroad starts at a ranking disadvantage:

Choosing

Which network, which school, immersion or not, and no map to follow.

Getting into secondary

Entry to 1re secondaire runs on the FWB single form and a points-based ranking, not first-come. Tightest in Brussels.

Being recognised

Equivalence of foreign schooling: dossiers, translations, apostilles.

The reception class

DASPA can help some non-francophone newcomers, but it is eligibility-based and often not the route for internationally-mobile families. We tell you honestly whether it applies to you.

Keeping up

A child learning in French before they can speak it, and homework you cannot read.

Moving up a year

The report card, plus the A, B or C orientation attestation that decides which stream your child may continue in.

Who we are

We are a family who made this exact move with our own children, and one of us works inside international education in Brussels. We know both systems first-hand: the international school many families leave, and the French-speaking Belgian school they are entering.

That is the whole reason this works. We are not consultants who read about it. We worked the enrolment system ourselves, prepared the equivalence, sat through the bulletins, and watched our children belong. Moving was hard enough. We built IntoSchool.be so the paperwork does not have to be.

We are independent, and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or using the resources of any school. We are facilitators, not lawyers: we prepare, submit and chase; the school or authority decides, and regulated matters we refer to a trusted specialist.

For employers & relocation partners

The specialist local-school desk

Children's schooling is one of the most common non-work reasons an international assignment fails, and a failed assignment costs a company a great deal. Relocation firms handle a generic school search, but not the depth of the local French-speaking system. That specialist local desk is what we are.

For employers

De-risk the schooling that quietly sinks relocations. A pre-move feasibility memo and, where needed, full placement, so a family arrives with the school route mapped, not left to chance.

For relocation firms

A specialist desk for the local and complex cases your generalists cannot close: the FWB ranking, equivalence, attestations. You keep the client; we handle the hard part.

How it works

A Pre-Move School Report per family, then employer-funded placement for the cases that need it. Fixed, transparent fees against a six-figure risk.

Frequently asked

How much does the whole thing cost?

The consultation is a fixed introductory fee. Fuller support (school strategy, inscription, equivalence, first-year help) is quoted transparently after the consultation, as fixed fees with no hourly surprises.

Can you guarantee a place, or the equivalence?

No, and anyone who does is not being honest. The authority decides. What we do is check, prepare and submit the dossier according to the agreed scope, and make sure you understand every step. The authority decides.

What happens to my family’s data?

We treat your family’s data carefully, and it is a point of principle for us. Your working dossier and your child’s documents are deleted after your assignment ends; we keep only the records the law requires (mainly invoices). We never sell your data. The newsletter is separate and opt-in — unsubscribe in one click — and you can ask us to erase your data at any time. Full detail in our privacy notice.

We do not speak French. Is that a problem?

No. That is precisely what we are for, and we can help you and your child build the school French you will need.

Is this only for French-speaking schools?

For now, yes, Brussels and Walloon Brabant. Dutch-speaking and university-entry help are coming.

Do you work with employers or relocation companies?

Yes. We run a specialist local-school desk for employers relocating families and for relocation firms who need depth in the local FWB system for their harder cases. See For employers & relocation partners.
